Our community transport scheme helps less able residents of North Herts & Stevenage solve their transport problems.
We use a dedicated team of volunteers who all use their own cars in their free time,
to transport passengers who live locally to their required destination.
As of April 2016 we also took over the Lister Voluntary Car Scheme, and as such our capacity has grown immensely,
we now have approximately 70 volunteer drivers, covering various areas of North Herts, Stevenage and parts of East Herts.
The scheme is run by local co-ordinators who have a team of volunteer drivers who use their own cars in their free time.
All of our drivers are paid a mileage rate of 0.45p per mile to cover the distance they travel from and back to their own home.
The Scheme has Public Liability Insurance cover.
Who are our drivers?
Our drivers are from all walks of life, some are retired, or students, or parents with children at school.
