What kind of journeys are undertaken?
- Hospital visits for treatments, appointments, outpatients
- Healthcare appointments
- Attendance at day centres and weekly clubs etc.
- Some social visits
What is the cost?
All trips are calculated at a rate of 0.45p per mile, starting from the driver’s home address. There is a minimum charge of £5 which covers the first 11 miles of any journey. The mileage payment is given to the volunteer at the end of the booking.
To ensure that our vital Community Transport service can continue to run at the high standards it does and to ensure its sustainability, an annual Supporter’s fee payment of £20.00 is payable soon after registration (or £34.00 per couple).
As a registered charity, this payment contributes to the core running costs of the service and allows us to achieve so much more as a service.
There are 3 ways to pay the Supporter’s Fee…

2. By Bank Transfer
3. By cheque.
There is no Supporter’s fee if the client only wishes to make use of our car service on a one-off basis. However, should clients require subsequent trips the Supporter’s fee will apply before any further trips can be booked. If you have any financial concerns about paying the Supporter’s fee, please call a member of the team. We are happy to discuss our service and our Supporter’s fee with you. You are very welcome to call us with any questions or concerns that you may have.
How do I book?
Bookings should ideally be made at least one week in advance. We do our very best to meet all booking requests but there may be times when this is not possible. All transport is subject to our Volunteer Driver’s availability. We reserve the right to decline any journey request.
